Director - Kate Primm founded Experiential Environmental Education, Inc. in 2004 and is the Director of The Green School of Baltimore. She has been teaching Special Education in Baltimore City Public Schools since 1996 and was one of eight model demonstration teachers for Balanced Literacy in BCPSS. She has particular expertise in project-based learning, environmental education, balanced literacy, and team building. While at Morrell Park Elementary/Middle, Kate spearheaded the Bay Schools Project in partnership with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation. She has a B.A. in English and a Masters in Social Work from the University of Maryland.
Mentor Teacher/Business Manager - Erin (Brough) Gunter graduated from Bloomsburg University where she majored in Political Science and minored in Women's Studies. She joined Baltimore City Teaching Residency in 2001. She received her M.A. in Leadership in Teaching from College of Notre Dame of Maryland in 2006. While at Morrell Park Elementary/Middle, Erin worked with the Bay Schools Project, taught 3rd and 4th grade, was a cooperating teacher for student interns, and was chair of the School Improvement Team. While at Waverly Elementary/Middle, she taught 6th grade English, Science and Social Studies, and was a cooperating teachers for student interns. She is a founding teacher of The Green School of Baltimore. In The Green School's inaugural year, Erin taught second grade and then looped with those students to teach third grade. This year Erin is teaching reading and writing in third grade and is serving as the school's business manager.
Kindergarten - Sherrie Buckley graduated from Towson State University in 1979 with a B.A. in Early Childhood Education; she also has a Masters equivalence from Towson. Sherrie has taught kindergarten in Baltimore City schools for fifteen years. Through the Bay Schools Project, Sherrie organized a partnership for her kindergarteners with Forest Oak Middle School. She has also served as a cooperating practitioner for student teaching interns. She is a founding teacher of The Green School of Baltimore.
Kindergarten - Tawanna Buie has worked with children for four years in New York. She attended Kings Borough Community College, also in New York. Tawanna has worked as an aide implementing Individual Education Plans in Baltimore City Public Schools. She joined The Green School in 2006. Tawanna is currently pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education at Coppin State University.
Literacy (1st and 2nd Grades) - Lindsay Clokey is a 2002 and 2006 graduate of Towson University and is certified as a K - 12 reading specialist, elementary and early childhood educator. She taught third grade a Morrell Park Elementary/Middle for three years and fourth grade at Cherry Hill Elementary/Middle. As a classroom teacher at Morrell Park and Cherry Hill, she mentored Towson University education students during their student teaching experience. Upon completion of her Master's degree in Reading Education she served as the reading specialist at Cherry Hill Elementary/Middle School for two years. As the reading specialist she developed and utilized a model for intervention cycles and provided direct support for struggling readers in grades 1 - 5. Additionally, she is a member of the International Reading Association.
Investigations (1st - 4th Grades) - Diana Weller has worked in the Baltimore City School System for seven years. Ms. Weller is a graduate of Towson University and is currently pursuing her Masters in Reading Education at Towson University as well. She is a founding teacher of The Green School of Baltimore that worked at Morrell Park with the Chesapeake Bay schools. She has taught various age groups, including middle school and elementary school students.
Math (2nd - 4th Grades) - Jess Heley graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in Theater in 2002 and later received her M.A. Teaching from the College of Notre Dame in 2008. Jess has been a special educator for grades 1 - 8 at Steuart Hill Elementary in Baltimore City for three years. She worked with the Office of Math to provide systemic PD on curriculum, testing strategies and providing accommodations for students with special needs. She believes that students should be encouraged to discover that learning is a holistic process that brings together knowledge, their individual interests, skill development and an awareness of their community at large.
Literacy (3rd and 4th Grades) - Charlene Butcher graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor's Degree in History. She joined the Baltimore City Teaching Residency after graduating. After student teaching Kindergarten at John Ruhrah Elementary school she accepted a position at Cherry Hill Elementary/Middle school teaching 2nd grade. After interviewing with The Green School and being offered the 4th grade position, she happily accepted. Charlene plans to pursue her Masters in the near future.
5th Grade - Seth Michaels is a graduate of Towson University and has taught 4th and 5th grades in Baltimore City for four years, first at Cherry Hill Elementary and most recently at Waverly Elementary. He is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Elementary Mathematics Instruction at Towson University.

Physical Education/Health - Kelley Gabrys graduated from Marshall University in 1988, having majored in Sports Medicine and Physical Education K - 12. She joined the U.S. Air Force from 1989 - 92, and is a veteran of Desert Storm. Kelley has been teaching Physical Education in Baltimore City since 1994. She has written grants to help improve girls in sports. She is a founding teacher of The Green School of Baltimore.
Wellness Coordinator - Shane (Richardson) Prada graduated from the University of Mississippi where she majored in English and International Studies. After graduating, she joined Teach For America and taught first grade at Waverly Elementary for 2 years during which time she earned her Masters of Arts degree in Teaching at JHU. In May of 2006, Shane joined the staff of the Green School of Baltimore. She taught first grade for the first two years and third grade Math and Investigations in school's third year. In her current role as the Wellness Coordinator, Shane plans and teaches Science Friday and Mangia Monday. In her free time, Shane enjoys reading, spending time outdoors with her husband, Michael, and training in dressage and jumping with her horse, Caesar.
Reading Support Teacher - Donna Watkins graduated from UMCP in 1978 with a B.S. in Special Education K-12 and Elem. Ed. 1-6 & Middle School. She taught Special Education at the high school level, grades 9-12, and at the elementary level, grades 1-6, in the Anne Arundel County Public School System for 6 years. Donna received a M.Ed. from Loyola College in MD in 2007, and current certification areas include Reading Specialist K-12, Sp. Ed. K-12, and Elem. Ed. & M.S. She has a passion for teaching reading and has operated a private reading business integrating reading assessment and instruction.
